Synopsis: Students often have a difficult time relating older literature to modern times. After students have: researched and explored Ancient Greece in Social Studies; listened to the modern day myth “Lightening Thief” in writing class; and explored myth elements and characters in ELA, they will write their own modern day myths. Their myth will incorporate myth elements found in Greek Mythology, introduce a character that has either god/goddess or hero/ heroine attributes and explain a modern day phenomenon, event or situation in todayʼs culture. |

Driving Question: How do the Greek myths of Ancient Greece relate to our lives today? |
