Hydroponics - Lettuce Grow

Synopsis: Two to three alternative schools will collaborate to each develop, construct and monitor hydroponics in their classroom using low cost supplies. This is an experiential (hands on) activity that will increase understanding in scientific concepts as well as skills related to team building, critical thinking and scientific inquiry. Students will use technology to communicate with the other schools to compare and contrast data collected. Presentations of research will be made to peers and invited guests. Field trips to area hydroponic growers may be possible.
